Free Online Dating Advice Column: How to Deal with a Commitment-Phobic Sociopath?

Today's column will address the following topic: How does one deal with a commitment-phobic sociopath? I am talking about a man who is married or otherwise committed and obviously isn't in search of a long-term relationship, yet he puts up an online dating profile and answers the ads of women who are clearly looking for a long-term, committed relationship.

What is a person like that hoping to gain from lying and breaking the hearts of women everywhere? Beats me; I am not here to play his psychiatrist. I would like to talk to his victims, though. My free online dating advice boils down to this: outsmart this ruthless wolf in sheep's clothing. You can run a report on every guy who answers your ad and asks you out. In fact, you really should do that to make sure you are safe on your date and the man is who he says he is.

For example, the misogynistic saboteur mentioned earlier can easily be confronted with the truth obtained from public records: he is married, or much older, or is wanted for rape. Well, hopefully not that last one, but it is possible, and it does happen. Dear women, if you never listen to anything else, please heed this free online dating advice: let's be smarter than the fools they take us for.

Can you tell I am still furious? Words can't describe how seemingly nice, normal people can turn out to be really creepy liars. Why, I ask, why would a man who still shares his home with his supposed "ex" - who can come back any time because half of the house is hers - bring someone new over? I doubt she even left him in the first place, but I hope she did. Ladies, how much better can I illustrate the situation? If you take nothing from today's free online dating advice column, take this: don't let them hurt you; beat 'em to the truth - it's all out there, in public records.
